The ProTrack

A step into the real-world performing arts industry, where dancers are pushed passed their limits & into their light!

ABOUT THE PROFESSIONAL TRACK

The Koin & Co Professional Track (ProTrack) is comprised of dancers 16+ selected from the Koin & Co Junior Training Program. These dancers not only exhibit superb technical efficiency, they also provide a maturity to their performance & high professionalism in the studio. The ProTrack is held to an extremely high standard, that truly only few young artists can handle.

Director Ali, prides herself on pushing the ProTrack dancers to their ultimate best - both inside & out of the studio. The full package is what the industry will get to see, therefore Ali ensures they are ready for absolutely anything the industry can throw at them personally & professionally.

Aside from their weekly training, the ProTrack receive extra one-on-one classes with guest/master teachers, practice submitting & real submission opportunities, various opportunities to create a deeply-rooted network of connections within the industry, and more. Ali is extremely tough on the ProTrack dancers, as she wants to instill the upmost professionalism & build their tough skin for the bumps/bruises the industry has. It is no secret, the structure of ProTrack is not for the faint hearted or unfocused dancer.

As parents & young dancers, it’s hard to necessarily see what the actual industry is outside of competitions, conventions & open classes. While some may think they know the extent of the industry, it is almost impossible for anyone not within the industry to know the real ups & downs of a working dancer. For every singular “yes” a dancer hears, there are 100 “nos” prior - there is no continuous praise, or special attention, only hard work & perseverance through vigorous training!

The professional dance industry is unique in it’s form as there is NO standard, no set requirements, nothing that is 100% certain - it is an industry based simply on opinion. Each class, teacher, educator, casting agent, open call, etc, all have different wants/needs/opinions on what exactly they’re looking for & the best way to prepare yourself or your dancer, is to get used to the “rejection" by finding a positive, constructive way to approach each opportunity. The ProTrack dancers & parents get a full-throttle experience of the fast-pace, quick turn around & work it takes to be successful in the industry, as well as the tools required for a long working career!

Ali's philosophy for the Professional Track is:

“I should be the hardest teacher these kiddos ever experience, so they are set up for anything the industry can throw at them - good, bad, ugly - their futures will be filled with nothing but incredible experiences."
