THE JUNIOR TRAINING PROGRAM
"Training the next generation of professionals..."
The Koin & Co Dancers Junior Training Program was created and has been methodically cultivated to provide aspiring young dancers real hands-on exposure to both the artistry and demand of the professional dance industry . The JTP provides dancers with mentoring by our deeply-rooted directors, resident teachers, the advantage of frequent master teachers/choreographers, calculated seminars that target the ever-changing needs of a performing artist, all matched with unparalleled networking opportunities - the Junior Training Program students complete the program equipped with not only the knowledge and essential tools to enter a professional dance career, but also with immense growth as both dancers and evolving humans.
About the jtp
The Junior Training Program is designed for dancers seeking additional training to compliment their current studio or full-time program commitments; the program is neither a dance studio or a competitive team, but rather aimed at fostering a nurturing environment for continuous growth and professional training.
Weekly Sundays are long hours, and not intended for new dancers or dancers at a beginner level. A single Sunday is approximately eight and a half rigorous hours (see sample schedules below) and is true to a schedule of a working dancer in the industry.
The unique structure of the program encourages dancers to take advantage of as many different training opportunities without being held back by a full-time schedule. As the JTP is not a studio or competition team, the teachers are solely focused on the dancers growth & training, and the directors are constantly pushing each dancer to be their personal-best in the classroom and in the real world.
Program Co-Directors Ali, Steph, Jazzmine & Bekah, were once young dancers who came eagerly to New York City, only to find themselves unprepared for what was required of them to be a successful professional dancer. This dynamic group has created the ultimate program for young dancers looking to gain and further expand their knowledge of the performing arts industry - all while refraining from imposing on their current studio/program commitments.
Please note, our JTP dancers are invited not only based on talent, but also on their personalities, we like to make sure we are inviting in dancers with kind hearts and open minds. Here at Koin strive to develop not only exceptional dancers, but kind humans as well!

The JTP is for the serious dancer and professional parent, there is no tolerance for in-program nonsense, ie; "dance moms."

"I can't speak highly enough or give enough praise to Koin & Co for the quality dance training and mentorship provided through their Junior Training Program. We have been lucky enough to be a part of this supportive, nurturing and age appropriate environment that has allowed my young teenage daughter opportunities and experiences otherwise unavailablw. Each and every week thoughtful attention goes into planning diverse class schedules covering every imaginable dance genre and then some. Weekly guest choreographers, semester resident teachers and the directors themselves are a wealth of talent and knowledge committed to sharing their real world experiences and passion with each and every person in the room. This positive and personal atmosphere has encouraged amazing growth and confidence in such a short period of time creating a desire to work harder and dream bigger. It's the absolute best part of her week!"
"Koin & Co is an excellent program to hone your craft of dance.
My daughter continues to grow as a dancer by getting introduced to different techniques, being pushed to meet her potential, gaining inspiration, and learning from a variety of NYC dance teachers and choreographers. T
he close comradery, strong commitment and support among the trainees are a great bonus."
